Progress Log: Week 07

Weekly Weigh-In

All right! I’m getting back on track, finally.

I weighed in this week at 249. It feels good to drop below that 250 milestone. It’s been awhile since I’ve been here.

My last “good weight” that I have on record was January 13th, 2019. I weighed in at 192. This was the week that I officially became a partner at Shotski’s and my life went full tilt-a-whirl for two years between a full-time day job, a full-time nightclub business, losing the business, and then being immediately thrust into a global pandemic.

Feeling really good this week. I’m starting to see definition being carved out between my shoulders and triceps. And hey, these sweats are starting to feel loose!

At 192 lbs, I had a 33 inch waist. I felt healthy and comfortable at this size, even though it wasn’t my end goal. I’d like to be back at this point by the beginning of July.

The tricky thing is that I don’t know if me, today, four more years later on testosterone, is going to measure out the same way I did back then. My muscles are thicker and denser than they were in 2019, and I’m quite a bit stronger now as well. In all reality, I could end up being 205 with a 33 in waist.

This is all uncharted territory for me.

All I do know is that by the end of August, I’d like to have between a 30 and 32 inch waist for my wedding in late September and I’d like to be able to maintain that.

Details

It was a low-rep, heavy weight week.

Sunday started out kind of sketchy. I felt a little dizzy heading in to the gym but I pushed through and felt better by the end of chest day. I kind of puked out in my flat bench, the first lift of the day, but after my adrenaline started pumping I felt better.

I felt pretty good on Monday and got a solid leg and shoulder day in, but Wednesday and Thursday were crazy work days. I had a plan to escape by 3:30 on Thursday, but it failed, and my lady and I had a date night planned that night so I missed out.

I got in on Friday and put in a good Back and Triceps day that I topped off with some yard work. Today, Saturday, I got in an hour of yoga and a 40 minute core workout.

So, while this week was a little spotty in the middle, I got in my main three and a core day.

I’d rate it a 7 out of 10.

This coming week is going to be both fun and maybe a little bit of a challenge. My son, Tay, will be joining me from Washington this evening, through Tuesday. We’ll be eating the bad things, for sure, but I’m pretty confident he’ll want to hit the gym at least a time or two while he’s with me, which is always fun. He’s my favorite work out buddy.

So, let’s see if I can get Week 08 to hit 8 on my success scale!
